Join the IHTV - the Inlet Hydrangea Trail Volunteers - as they reestablish the Historic Hydrangea Trail 2.0 and discover the beauty and benefits of gardening.
Advantages
1

Promotes the knowledge of history and horticulture while conserving native and introduced plants. Learn more about hydrangeas on August 13, 4 PM and September 10, 6 PM in the Gardner's Basin Amphitheater near the Aquarium.
2
Stress Reduction

3
Agricultural Tourism
Explore the Hydrangea Trail 2.0 to experience sustained agricultural tourism and the benefits it brings. The goals of the Hydrangea Trail 2.0 Project are to:
1. reestablish a Hydrangea Trail
2. add volunteers to the project
3. beautify neighborhoods
4. create a botanical garden in Gardner's Basin
community beautification
Visit Gardner's Basin in Atlantic City and view the work of the Inlet Hydrangea Trail Volunteers. Our volunteers work diligently to create relationships and increase the number of hydrangea installations with public and private entities. Maintainance of the installation is the responsibility of the business owner.
community connections
adding Design to the inlet
We supported the creation of beautiful and functional containers for the businesses of the Inlet to connect the community through artwork and gardening! It was a collaborative effort made possible by the help of the Inlet Community Development Corporation, The AC Aquarium, the IHTV, and the Atlantic City Arts Foundation.
Landscaping
Transforming outdoor space in Fisherman's Park with native species - the oakleaf hydrangea. The Fish and Wildlife Service along with the Shade Tree Commission, CROPS, and the Atlantic County Institute of Technology worked collaboratively on this project.
agritourism
Flowers reduce stress, create beauty, fuel community pride, and attract visitors as well as residents. The Hydrangea is not native to New Jersey (except for the Oak Leaf Hydrangea) but it is well suited for the sandy soil and salt air in the south Jersey area. Hope to see you on the Trail!
